During the summer we have long days and short nights here in Finland. So this has inspired aiti-puffa to start her knitting challenge which starts on the first of June and finishes in the end of July. The idea is to start a new project each day until the summer solstice and then get them all finished by the end of July. This means 20 projects.
I have tried to limit my WIPs to five at a time so this might just prove to be a bit of a mind bog for me. But on the other hand gives me a perfect way to half my Ravelry que and get all those smaller projects out of the way. I am looking forward being able to concentrate to bigger projects made with lush yarns I have been shashing away. Also I am looking forward getting my stash to fit that one bedding box which is under my bed.
I have updated my queue in Ravelry with the tag KYH2014 (summer night madness abbreviated in Finnish) and yesterday I dug up all the yarn and needles needed. I do need to go shopping for some buttons and I am a bit short of 3 mm circulas and I don't have 6 mm DPNs so those need to be purchased as well. Plan is to start new projece each day and then do it as fast as possible and after all the projects have been started take one at a time to finish. I think I will start with the thickest yarns and leave the scarfs (three planned) for my holiday trip to England.
Here is a picture of the folder with all the patterns and yarn for 19 projects paired with needles/hooks. No 20 is an UFO which was knitted last year but has been waiting for finishing off ever since.
Oh and my furry assistant managed to ge to the picture as well.
I will be back on Sunday the 1st of June to tell how I got started...
